Badasyan announced on 18 November 2024 that he had submitted his resignation as SRC chairman, after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's 14 November address criticising the work of several agencies. The same wave of resignations covered the ministers of territorial administration and interior, the Investigative Committee chairman, the Anti-Corruption Committee chairman, and the head of the Supreme Judicial Council. Eduard Hakobyan was appointed his successor by government decision on 28 November 2024.
